Lukashenko demands focus on getting farm machinery field-ready

SMOLEVICHI DISTRICT, 21 February (BelTA) – Top-priority attention should be paid to have farm machinery ready for spring field work, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a visiting seminar on agriculture conducted for the president’s authorized representatives and aides in regions on 21 February, BelTA has learned.

One of the topics of the seminar was the preparation of farm machinery for spring field work. The participants of the event, led by Aleksandr Lukashenko, toured the machinery and tractor fleet of the agricultural enterprise Shipyany-ASK.

“Farm machinery should be field-ready. All tractors and trucks need to be ready for work. They [farms] should first of all get tillage equipment ready for spring field work,” the president said.

The equipment will be fully ready just before the sowing season, he said adding that it was already time to assess the preparations. “You should address a good specialist who will tell you how it should be. Then you will be able to assess the situation. This is a serious thing. This is especially important in cattle breeding,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
