MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – During a phone call on 15 August Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated President of the United States of America Donald Trump on good work to secure a peace deal in Caucasus, Russia Today quoted the Belarus president’s Press Secretary Natalya Eismont as saying.
According to Natalya Eismont, during the phone call the leaders of the two countries also discussed the topic of Iran and the Middle East. The Belarusian head of state is convinced that progress would be secured on these matters, she added.
The leaders of Belarus and the USA had a phone call on 15 August. The presidents discussed matters on the bilateral agenda, regional affairs, and the situation in hot spots, including Ukraine.
An agreement was reached to continue contacts. Aleksandr Lukashenko invited Donald Trump and his family to visit Minsk. The invitation was accepted.
