Lukashenko calls for faster adoption of promising developments

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – It is particularly important to accelerate the adoption of promising developments in Belarus’ real sector of the economy, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in his Address to the Belarusian people and Parliament, BelTA has learned.
Speaking about urgent economic challenges, the head of state emphasized the importance of technological sovereignty. “It is especially important for the real sector to accelerate the implementation of promising developments,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The president emphasized that the country needs projects based on the research and discoveries of domestic scientific and industrial schools. “Falling behind is especially unacceptable in the development of micro- and radioelectronics. At least, we must supply our manufacturing and defense sector with domestic microelectronic components. This is our field. We have been working in it for a long time,” he said.

Another specific task highlighted by the head of state is the annual production of new models of computer-controlled machine tools to fully meet the needs of domestic enterprises and to enter global markets. “We are a machine-building country. Without modern machine tools, what kind of machine-building can there be? Again, machine tool construction has been our field since Soviet times. Therefore, sectoral ministers, managers, and scientists, must coordinate programs and plans for the new five-year period. By 2030, we need to increase the number of robots used in our factories to 100 per 10,000 workers,” the president noted.
