MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to President of Angola João Lourenço and the people of Angola as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Over the half-century of its existence, your country has traveled a difficult path of formation and development. Today, Angola is a sovereign state, one of the leaders on the African continent with strong economic potential and political authority in the world,” the message of greetings reads.
Belarusians are proud that during the Soviet era, as part of the single Soviet state, they assisted the glorious Angolan people in their selfless struggle for independence, the president said.
“Minsk remains a faithful and reliable partner to Luanda and is ready to expand cooperation in political, trade, economic, and cultural sectors, primarily through the implementation of joint projects in agriculture, mechanical engineering, the mining industry, education, and science,” the head of state emphasized. “In this regard, I consider it necessary to intensify our bilateral contacts at all levels.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished João Lourenço and his family good health, and the people of Angola peaceful skies and success.
