MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has granted an interview to the international news agency Kazinform ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit due in Astana, Kazakhstan, BelTA has learned.
“Ahead of the Astana summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Aleksandr Lukashenko will talk about the organization’s potential, the opportunities the organization’s membership opens up for the Republic of Belarus, about global and food security as well as cooperation with Kazakhstan,” Kazinform reports.
The interview will be published on the Kazinform website on 3 July.
The Republic of Belarus has been participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization since 2010. The country was a dialogue partner initially and an observer later on. Belarus is expected to become a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization within the framework of the organization’s summit in Astana.
