SCO summit to be held via video link on 10 November

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) - The Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will hold a meeting via a video link on 10 November, TASS informs.

The SCO leaders will discuss the strengthening and further development of cooperation within the framework of the SCO, including in the context of the global political and socioeconomic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The heads of state will focus on ways to promote the SCO member states' practical interaction in politics, security, trade and economy, cultural and humanitarian affairs and to further a political dialogue, above all in the interests of stability in the SCO space. They will also discuss the enhancement of their countries' trade and economic cooperation and improvement of coordination in the main international organizations.

Founded on 2001, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a regional international organization comprising India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Four more countries have an observer status, including Belarus that got this status in 2015.
