Prime ministers of Belarus, Azerbaijan discuss Middle East situation

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin has talked to Azerbaijan Prime Minister Ali Asadov over the phone, the Belarusian government’s press service told BelTA.

Dynamic advancement of Belarus-Azerbaijan partnership in various spheres thanks to joint efforts of the heads of state was noted during the conversation.

Prospects of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan were also discussed, including the calendar of bilateral top and high-level events, the implementation of a series of concrete projects.

The heads of government exchanged opinions about the situation in the region and stressed the mutual concern about the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. Aleksandr Turchin expressed concern about the incident in Nakhchivan and genuine support to the leadership of Azerbaijan and the friendly Azerbaijani nation.

The parties confirmed the importance of preserving peace and stability in the region and spoke in favor of getting the situation back onto the diplomatic track as soon as possible.
