MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Yevgeny Sobolevsky met with Egypt’s Industry Minister Khaled Hashem on 22 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Egypt.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of industrial cooperation and the operation of assembly plants for Belarusian agricultural and automotive machinery in Egypt. These discussions included reducing import customs duties on components for such plants and marketing jointly produced goods. In addition, the conversation addressed the possibility of establishing direct interbank cooperation.
The ambassador invited the leadership of Egypt’s Industry Ministry to participate in the 8th meeting of the Belarus-Egypt Joint Trade Commission, which will take place in Minsk in early May 2026, as well as to hold the 4th meeting of the Belarusian-Egyptian working group on industrial cooperation during the year.
As previously reported by BelTA, the Egyptian side has confirmed that Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh will take part in the commission meeting.
The previous meeting of the Belarus-Egypt Joint Trade Commission took place in 2023 in Cairo.
