Lukashevich: Southeast Asia becomes key focus of Belarus’ foreign policy

MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) - Belarus’ First Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lukashevich took part in the seminar Belarus and Southeast Asia in search of new prospects for cooperation, organized by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on 4 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Sergei Lukashevich noted that Belarus considers Southeast Asia one of the most important regions in the world in terms of promoting the country’s political and economic interests.

The seminar emphasized that developing mutually beneficial cooperation with the states of this part of the world, including through inter‑parliamentary channels, is one of the priorities of Belarus’ foreign policy.

Attending the event was also Roman Romanovsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Indonesia and Permanent Representative of Belarus to ASEAN.
