Delegation of China’s Jilin Province visits Belarus

 MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) - A delegation from China's Jilin Province is visiting Belarus on 28-29 July with a view to establishing partnerships with Belarusian counterparts, BelTA has learned.

The Chinese delegation, led by Liu Jinbo, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial People's Congress, began their program at the Belarus-China Friendship Society in Minsk's House of Friendship. The Chinese official emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

Liu Jinbo said: “With great enthusiasm, we are exploring Minsk's potential for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Jilin Province," stated Liu. 

He also presented the development achievements of Jilin Province, which is located in Northeast China's center with Changchun as its capital. Jilin is one of China's six major forest regions with the Changbai Mountain range. The province boasts 130 types of mineral resources including coal, oil, iron ore, and gold (ranking 13th nationally in gold reserves). Key industries are automotive manufacturing, petrochemicals, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and electronics. The Chinese province has a well-developed agriculture, construction, S&T, and tourism sectors, including ski resorts

The vice chairman of the Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial People's Congress highlighted the upcoming 15th China-Northeast Asia Expo in Changchun (27-31 August) as a crucial platform for international engagement, extending a special invitation to Belarusian participants.

Alina Grishkevich, Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarus-China Friendship Society, Honored Figure of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, showcased the organization's activities including cultural publications. The delegation was presented with several notable publications, including China Through Belarusian Eyes. Particular interest was shown in Alina Grishkevich's book Women's Destinies - The Destiny of Unified Belarus, published by BelTA News Agency in Belarusian, Chinese, Russian and English to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China, with support from the Chinese Embassy. The work has been widely promoted both in China and internationally.

Nina Ivanova, Chairwoman of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, emphasized the special importance Belarus places on developing ties with China while outlining the organization's broader activities.

The Chinese delegation's meetings at the Belarus-China Friendship Society, Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, and the Great Stone Industrial Park serve to further strengthen the all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership between Belarus and China.
