GRODNO, 16 January (BelTA) – Senya, a raccoon that arrived from the USA in a car container, is now acclimatizing in Belarus, the Grodno Regional Customs told BelTA.
Having endured a long journey across the ocean with no food, the raccoon was placed in the care of specialists at the veterinary station in Oshmyany District on the evening of 14 January.
Following the 72-hour quarantine period, the necessary veterinary measures will be taken, and a decision will be made regarding the animal’s future “home.”
The unexpected passenger in a car processed by the Grodno Regional Customs developed a taste for chicken eggs and a friendly disposition towards people.
