Lavrov presents Rogozhnik with badge for contribution to international cooperation

MOSCOW, 17 January (BelTA) – Aleksandr Rogozhnik, recently appointed by the Belarusian president as Vitebsk Oblast Governor, held a series of meetings in Moscow to mark the conclusion of his mission as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy.

In particular, Aleksandr Rogozhnik met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev, State Secretary of the Union State Sergey Glazyev, and Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov.

According to the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry press service, “the parties praised the intensive nature of Russia-Belarus political contacts at the highest and high levels, the steady development of multifaceted bilateral cooperation, the stable dynamics of building the Union State, and close foreign policy coordination within integration associations and international organizations involving both countries.”

“The minister [Sergey Lavrov] highly appreciated the personal role of the ambassador in advancing the entire spectrum of Russia-Belarus relations and presented him with the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s badge For Contribution to International Cooperation,” the Russian diplomatic service added.

Given the active development of ties between the regions of the two countries, Sergey Lavrov expressed confidence in continuing constructive cooperation with Aleksandr Rogozhnik in his new responsible position for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of Belarus and Russia.
