CIS IPA delegation to monitor constitutional referendum in Belarus

MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) - Belarus' National Assembly invited a delegation of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly to monitor the referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution on 27 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the secretariat of the CIS IPA Council.

The corresponding letter signed by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova and Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko was sent to Chairwoman of the CIS IPA Council, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.

The CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly is putting together a monitoring group of MPs of the participating countries, staff and experts of the CIS IPA International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens.

International observers will be accredited by the Central Election Commission of Belarus.
