MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Director of the Belarusian airline Belavia Igor Cherginets told journalists which new countries the airline plans to serve at a press conference to mark the 30th anniversary of the national carrier, BelTA has learned.

One of the promising destinations is the Maldives, where Belavia plans to begin flights in August. “I hope it works out. It’s an expensive destination, but there is demand, and we’re working with the tourism market. We are considering operating 6-8 flights,” he said.
The airline also expects to launch flights on the Minsk-Manama (Bahrain) route starting in late March. With this program, Belarusians will be able to travel not only to Bahrain but also to Saudi Arabia.

The route network will be expanded with new Vietnamese resorts: Nha Trang and Da Nang. Flights to Nha Trang, available from 31 March, will operate three times a week. Charter flights to Da Nang will begin on 10 May, replacing Phu Quoc for the summer season. Belavia will fly there once every 10-11 days.
Flights to Jordan and Tunisia will be resumed. During the summer season, air service from Minsk to Russia’s Murmansk and Makhachkala will also be restored.

New routes will open from regional airports, including a Brest-Doha (Qatar) service.

In total, Belavia operates regular and charter tourist flights to 18 countries. In 2025, the airline carried more than 2 million passengers, an increase of 8.4% compared to 2024. Passenger turnover exceeded 5.5 million passenger-kilometers (up by 11.2%).

From regional airports, 1,675 flights were operated, serving more than 145,100 passengers. The overall load factor reached 85.9%. Cargo transport amounted to 3,308 tonnes (up by 59.7%), with cargo turnover nearly doubling.

In 2025, Belavia launched its first long-haul flights in the company’s history: to Sanya (China), Phu Quoc (Vietnam), and Sri Lanka. In January 2026, flights to Thailand began. Charter programs to Oman and long-awaited flights to Almaty and Tel Aviv were also resumed.
