Belarus, UNDP discuss projects, plans for 2022

MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Republic of Belarus Alexandra Solovieva, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties took stock of cooperation in 2021 and discussed UNDP projects in Belarus, including projects to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and to support the work of the National Coordinator for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as matters related to World Trade Organization.

“The parties also discussed the implementation of the country program for Belarus in 2022 focusing on cooperation in post-COVID-19 recovery, the achievement of the SDGs by Belarus, the launch of projects in the regions affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster, digitalization, and the promotion of a green economy in Belarus,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

An agreement was reached to hold events timed to the 30th anniversary of cooperation between Belarus and UNDP, which will be marked on 24 September.
