Belarus, Syria condemn West’s interference in internal affairs of states

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Syria condemn the interference of the collective West in the internal affairs of sovereign states, Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh told the media following the talks with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov in Minsk on 29 October, BelTA has learned.

“We condemned the interference of the collective West in the internal affairs of independent states, illegal sanctions of the West, including against our countries. In this context, we discussed ways and means to develop cooperation against these illegal decisions,” Bassam Sabbagh said.

The main topic discussed during the talks was bilateral relations. The parties aim to strengthen political dialogue and mutual support in international organizations.

“We also discussed the improvement of relations in trade and economic cooperation and the cultural sector,” the Syrian foreign minister added.

The diplomats also touched upon the situation in the Middle East. The ministers condemned Israel's actions towards the Palestinian territories and stated the need to resolve the conflict as soon as possible.

“We also emphasized the role of Russia and Belarus in establishing peace and order in Eurasia,” Bassam Sabbagh said.
