MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) - Belarus plans to sign an intergovernmental air service agreement with Thailand in 2026, Igor Golub, Director of the Aviation Department at the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus said during the Discover Amazing Thailand event in Minsk marking the launch of Belavia’s flight program, BelTA has learned.
Igor Golub noted that charter flights will commence in January, calling it a significant milestone for the industry. “We will continue our efforts. I hope that next year, together with our colleagues from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Kingdom of Thailand, we will reach the signing of an intergovernmental agreement, which will allow us to develop regular air service,” he said.
According to him, tourist flows to tropical resorts are expected to increase. Many new destinations have opened. The task for Belavia is to improve the quality and accessibility of its routes.
As previously reported, flights from Minsk to Pattaya (U-Tapao International Airport) will begin on 8 January, and to Phuket on 11 January. Tickets are available as part of tour packages; details regarding the flights, pricing, and other up-to-date information can be obtained from tour operators.
