Belarus eager to step up interaction with China’s special administrative regions

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Consul General of Belarus to Hong Kong Tatiana Kharlap met with Chief Executive of the Administration of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China Ho Iat Seng, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Participants of the meeting discussed matters concerning the invigoration of Belarus-Macao interaction, concrete projects in trade, education, tourism, cultural exchange, the formation of the legal base cooperation relies on, and the organization of mutual visits. Apart from that, Belarus’ adherence to the One China principle was reaffirmed as well as the eagerness to intensify interaction with China’s special administrative regions.

Ho Iat Seng mentioned the availability of a great untapped potential for cooperation with Belarus, the openness of Macao’s market to Belarusian goods and services, the readiness to develop ties with Belarusian regions, and invited Belarus to participate in the international events that take place in Macao.
