MOSCOW, 26 March (BelTA) – A meeting of the CIS Economic Council with the participation of deputy prime ministers of the CIS member states will take place in Moscow on 3 April. On the same day, the deputy prime ministers will also take part in the plenary session of the CIS International Economic Forum, the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.
Seventeen items have been included in the draft agenda of the CIS Economic Council. In particular, participants will exchange views on current issues of economic cooperation within the CIS, discuss the regulation on the interstate event Commonwealth Fair, the activities of the advisory council on consumer protection of the CIS member states, and the awarding of the 2025 CIS Prize for achievements in the quality of products and services.
The meeting is expected to review the results of the implementation of the interstate targeted program Rehabilitation of Territories Affected by Uranium Mining Operations, as well as the main areas of cooperation among CIS member states in the management of radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuel, and the decommissioning of nuclear and radiation-hazardous facilities through 2030.
The agenda also includes the draft concept for the digital transformation of the mining and metallurgical industries of the CIS member states and an action plan for its implementation, as well as the draft interstate radionavigation program for 2026-2030. The meeting is set to determine the base organizations of the CIS member states responsible for improving quality and business excellence, developing professional competencies in the field of quality, and for training and advanced training of specialists and highly qualified researchers in aquaculture.
