MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Maize has been planted on 32.7% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Spring crops were sown on 970,100 hectares, which is 41% of the plan. Early spring grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were planted on an area of 548,900 hectares, which is 89.2% of the target.
Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 16,600 hectares, which is 26.9% of the target. Sugar beet was planted on 85,900 hectares (83.2%), maize on 154,800 hectares (12.6%), including grain maize (32.7%), potatoes on 1,970 hectares (11.8%), vegetables on 1,460 hectares (29.1%).
Annual grasses were planted on 113,700 hectares, which is 51.8% of the plan. Flax was sown on an area of 31,600 hectares, which is 63.9% of the plan.
