MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) - Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi spoke about Belarusian proposals for the Russian market in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV channel on 5 October, BelTA has learned.

“The latest meeting of our countries' leaders showed that, despite the already huge figures, close to $60 billion in total trade including goods and services, we still have room for growth, and the opportunities are in fact vast. We have a good situation in the banking sector, and with finances and the budget. We can reallocate a portion of resources to support promising export contracts. Of course, we would prefer these contracts to be long-term - three years or more - but if there are profitable contracts, as they say, here and now (even annual ones), then we need to offer such programs to the Russians. Their market has high interest rates, and the volume of subsidies and leasing programs has been significantly tightened. Therefore, we have the opportunity and the resources to occupy this niche and support our producers,” said Dmitry Krutoi.

In his words, trade with some Russian regions is above average. “We would like to reach 103-105% of the trade figures. I'm speaking specifically about goods now, because the numbers in services are quite good - these are transport, construction, and IT services. That area is actually developing well, and we simply need to load the relevant enterprises and scale up, moving from some regions of Russia to others. In reality, the situation is very simple. We have seen a dip in traditional industrial goods, but this has been compensated for by food products, metallurgy, and partially by the light industry. That is why the overall average figures look quite acceptable today,” the head of the Belarus President Administration said.
