Governor hails prospects for cooperation between Gomel Oblast, Kazakhstan

GOMEL, 21 April (BelTA) - The market of Kazakhstan is big and the areas of cooperation are many, Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko said as hetook stock of the visit to Kazakhstan last week, BelTA reports.

The governor pointed out that the Gomel delegation visited a number of enterprises, organizations, and the services center of the Karaganda regional administration.

The parties signed a number of important documents. "Following the visit, we signed 17 documents on cooperation, including 10 export contracts worth more than $25 million. In particular, we reached agreements on the supply of Gomselmash agricultural machinery, woodworking, meat, dairy and confectionery products," Ivan Krupko said.

The documents cover a variety of areas. The partners from Kazakhstan expressed their interest in training specialists in Belarus, Ivan Krupko noted.

The head of the region added that the market of Kazakhstan is big. "There is a demand [for Belarusian goods], especially for food products. No one doubts the Belarusian quality. There is also interest in our woodworking goods. In general, there are a lot of areas thatwe can tap into. We need to work harder and gain momentum," Ivan Krupko summarized.
