Governor comments on agricultural sector measures in Polesie region

MOZYR, 8 April (BelTA) - One of the key issues raised in the report was the development of crop and livestock farming in Mozyr District and Narovlya District, Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko told the media after his report to the president on a wide range of issues, including the development of crop farming and livestock breeding, BelTA has learned.

“Earlier, the head of state instructed Mozyr District to take the Narovlya farms under its patronage and help them develop. At that time, the most technologically advanced enterprises of Mozyr District provided sponsorship assistance, but this did not produce the desired effect. Therefore, 2022-2024 saw the reorganization as the farms of Narovlya District were merged into the experimental farm Krinichnaya and the state farm-kombinat Zarya of Mozyr District. Thus, 19,000 hectares of Narovlya District became part of the Mozyr farms,” the governor said.

“We’ve determined the development directions for the territories. It was important to preserve the manufacturing base and jobs. The task was to strengthen agriculture, farming starboards and to give the people of Narovlya District the opportunity to work on their own land,” he emphasized.

Zarya and Krinichnaya are technologically powerful enterprises of the industry, holding high positions not only in the district and the region but also at the national level. “The Krinichnaya enterprise completed a new dairy farm with a full production cycle last year and today produces 25 liters of milk per cow or more. We continued construction of another dairy farm. I think that during the trip [the head of state’s working trip] we will show how we are developing this territory,” the governor said.
Ivan Krupko also spoke about the development of full-cycle production at the Zarya state farm complex. “This includes the construction of a new pig-breeding complex, the reconstruction of a dairy farm, the construction of a compact mechanical yard with the ability to repair and store equipment, as well as the construction of a grain drying and cleaning complex. We already have clear plans for the development of these territories in crop production for 2026-2030 as well,” he assured.

During the report, the head of state also instructed to further develop and strengthen the positions of beef cattle breeding in the south-eastern region.
