MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) - Belarus is building up its export support system, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov told the media on the margins of the Export League forum in Minsk on 10 December, BelTA learned.
“This is the second edition of the forum. The interest in it has grown. It involves more participants, more solid enterprises. The range of topics considered at the discussion platforms are much wider this year. This is a dialogue of producers, sellers and those who can help with export/import operations. We are looking at what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Marketing Center and other government organizations can do for our exporters to promote their products abroad,” Maksim Ryzhenkov noted.
According to him, the number of state support means increases from year to year. “Today support for exports is provided through export risk insurance, export crediting, payment of part of the interest on loans and leasing payments, building clear parameters for the participation of our exporters in international exhibitions and fairs with the repayment of some expenses on these events,” the minister said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies and consulates, the National Marketing Center, the Agency for Foreign Economic Activity, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other organizations provide assistance to Belarusian exporters.
This year the forum highlights three main topics. The first is practical: how to launch exports, analyze promising markets, choose the counterparty, the types of commodities and the prices. The second topic is digitalization, which significantly speeds up the international processes of buying and selling, processing transactions, and making payments. The third one is market research using artificial intelligence. This reduces the costs of the process participants and helps to build up actual chains of purchase and sale, logistics, and promotion.
“We see our task first of all in teaching our exporters how to work properly in foreign markets. The ministry, our marketing center, and our diplomatic missions have extensive knowledge of foreign markets, including distant markets, which many of our exporters are interested in but maybe are wary of exploring. We offer assistance to those who want to gain a presence abroad, help them to build their work taking into account the mechanisms available to the Belarusian side and to network with foreign partners who would like to buy their products,” Maksim Ryzhenkov concluded.
The National Marketing Center of Belarus is the organizer of the Export League forum. The event has become a unique platform for Belarusian exporters to get answers to questions from leading experts. The theme of the forum is Business Pivot to the East. The event is a great opportunity for exporters to get practical information necessary for making the right business decisions. The main topic for the panel discussion is the impact of global economic trends on Belarus.
