Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meets in narrow format in Shymkent

MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – A narrow-format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is taking place in Shymkent (Kazakhstan) with the participation of Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, the government’s press service told BelTA.

The agenda includes a number of matters, among them the discussion of preparations for a statement on the development of artificial intelligence within the EAEU. The initiative was put forward by Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as part of the country’s chairmanship of the union.
“This topic is becoming more relevant every year and aligns with Belarus’ interests,” the press service noted.

The draft statement will be submitted for approval by the heads of state at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
