MOSCOW, 20 March (BelTA) - The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has decided to extend the zero import customs duty on diesel engines for the production of mining equipment, including that produced by heavy truck manufacturer BelAZ until 31 December 2026 inclusive, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) told BelTA.
Currently, the import customs duty under the common customs tariff for these engines stands at 5% of the customs value.The decision will apply to legal matters from 1 January 2026. Under a previous EEC Council decision, the zero duty on engines for mining equipment was in effect until 31 December 2025 inclusive.
“This customs tariff measure helps maintain the competitiveness of manufactured products, preserve jobs, and implement investment projects,” said Director of the EEC Department for Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation Vahagn Ghazaryan.
According to him, BelAZ is actively developing cooperation ties with enterprises of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries, both in terms of purchasing and commissioning import-substituted engines and in using other materials and components.
