EAEU to approve exchange trade development program in 2025

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – There are plans to approve the exchange trade development program in the EAEU in 2025, Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko said at the round table “The Future of the EAEU: Belarus at the Forefront of Integration Processes. Belarus’ Presidency in the EAEU” which took place at BelTA’s press center.

“Common exchange markets are getting gradual development. In October 2024, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council approved the concept of a common exchange market for goods. The main goals are the formation of objective market prices, the growth of trade in the EAEU, a higher share of settlements in national currencies and the formation of fair pricing for Eurasian goods. The next step will be an exchange trade development program in the EAEU. The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is set to approve the program in 2025,” Alesya Abramenko said.

The major goals of the program are to develop exchange trading in commodities and derivative financial instruments, the underlying asset of which is a commodity, to create conditions to ensure non-discriminatory access of market participants to trading, to work out a system for calculating price commodity indicators, to improve the procedure for registration of over-the-counter transactions in exchange-traded commodities, to harmonize requirements for electronic document management, including mutual recognition of electronic digital signature.

“Indicators reflecting the state and dynamics of prices will be formed within the framework of the common exchange commodity market,” the deputy minister added.
