BREST, 4 February (BelTA) - The international business forum titled The First Region - Territory of Success will be held in Brest at the end of April, Brest Oblast Vice Governor Mikhail Batsenko said as he spoke with the leadership of Vietnam’s Lao Cai province, BelTA has learned.
The negotiations took place online. “Brest Oblast and Lao Cai province signed a cooperation agreement in 2017. Today, we held a video meeting with our partners. We invited them to the First Region - Territory of Success forum, which will take place on 28-29 April. Other far-abroad countries are also invited: India, Indonesia, China, and African nations,” said Mikhail Batsenko. The forum will organize work across several thematic sections concerning industry, foreign trade, logistics, healthcare, education, science, and sports. The agenda will feature a business matchmaking session, site visits to industrial plants, and tours of local landmarks.
Brest Oblast maintains regular contact with Vietnamese partners. They are seeking ways to develop mutual relations. The cooperation shows positive dynamics. “Our trade with Vietnam is not as large as we would like, though we grew in this direction by almost 35% last year. Our main task is to multiply our mutual trade at the very least,” the vice governor said. The Brest Oblast’s exports of goods to Vietnam doubled in 2025. Key export items were food products and agricultural raw materials.
