MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) - Belkoopsoyuz will continue to provide active assistance to rural residents, Oleg Matskevich, who was elected Chairman of the Board of Belarusian National Union of Consumer Societies Belkoopsoyuz, said at the general meeting of Belkoopsoyuz in Minsk on 8 October, BelTA has learned.
“Dear participants of the meeting, thank you for your trust in me. I really know this work firsthand: I was in charge of the Vitebsk Regional Consumers Union for almost 13 years. I know its structure and the main difficulties. Our system is focused on rural residents, and we will continue to assist them in procuring harvest surpluses. I will justify the trust that you have put in me, and I hope for coordinated joint work for the benefit of consumer cooperation and rural people," said Oleg Matskevich.
Until now, Oleg Matskevich worked as first deputy chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee where he was in charge of economy, industrial development, quality and competitiveness of industrial products, fiscal and monetary policy, property relations and forecasting the socio-economic development of the region, districts, small and medium-sized urban settlements, foreign economic and regional relations. Among the areas he supervised was the protection of consumer rights, interaction with the council of the Vitebsk Regional Association of Trade Unions of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and sectoral trade unions.
