Belarus to step up oversight of industrial performance targets

MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin has instructed to step up oversight over the fulfilment of sectoral targets in industry, BelTA learned from the government press service.

The prime minister held a working meeting on the implementation of the planned targets for the production and export of industrial products in January 2026, with the participation of heads of relevant ministries, departments, and enterprises.

Aleksandr Turchin firmly raised the issue of personal responsibility of ministers and enterprise heads for the results of the industry’s performance in January.
During the meeting, reports from the heads of industrial ministries and departments were heard. Heads of certain industrial enterprises reported on the reasons for the decline in production volumes in January 2026.
The prime minister received assurance from some meeting participants regarding ensuring the fulfilment of industrial production targets in February at a level not lower than January, and a progressive increase in production volumes in the first quarter and subsequent periods of this year.
The press service emphasized that following February, the fulfilment of these assurances will be strictly assessed.
