Belarus, Russia’s Ryazan Oblast to advance exchange trade

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia’s Ryazan Oblast have agreed to jointly advance exchange trade, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

Under the cooperation agreement, the two organizations will set up systematic interaction aimed at the comprehensive promotion of exchange trading instruments and attracting local businesses to the BUCE electronic platform. This effort is expected to boost mutual trade, simplify the search for suppliers and buyers of goods, mitigate foreign trade risks, and reduce marketing costs.

The document was signed during a meeting of the working group on the cooperation development between Belarus and Russia’s Ryazan Oblast, with First Deputy Chairwoman of the BUCE Board Olga Gorelik part of the meeting. “Belarus sees significant potential in Ryazan Oblast for growing exchange trade, given the wide range of goods that can be traded on our electronic platform. For instance, this year, Belarusian enterprises have been regularly supplying butter, meat products, semi-finished leather goods, and non-ferrous metal scrap to the region. Ryazan grain producers have been actively selling wheat at exchange auctions. Trade was similar last year. Thus, to keep the transaction totals on an upward trajectory, we must jointly identify and develop new tradable goods that meet the needs of both Belarus and Ryazan Oblast. Assistance from the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be particularly valuable,” she emphasized, outlining the common tasks in the near future.

According to BUCE, since the beginning of 2025, four new companies from Ryazan Oblast have become clients of the exchange, bringing the total number of accredited business entities from the region to 37. Almost 70% of the exchange transactions made by Ryazan companies in 2025 was agricultural products. Metallurgical products and industrial goods accounted for 28% and 3% of trade, respectively.
