Belarus’ Development Bank rolls out economic map of the future

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – The Development Bank of Belarus presented its economic map of the future during the Summer School for Young Analysts, BelTA learned from the press service of the Development Bank of Belarus.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank Dmitry Yaroshevich took the stage to outline the Bank’s perspective on the world in 10 years. “The mission of the Development Bank is not only to respond to the urgent needs of the economy but also to proactively shape its future by investing in progressive projects. This is why our team is already working on the ideas of tomorrow, analyzing trends and forecasting the demands of the future economy,” he said.

Dmitry Yaroshevich outlined six key trends that will define the world of 2035: demographic shift, global economic divide and inequality, technological advancement, green transition, digitalization of education and transformation of the labor market. He elaborated on each of these trends and provided various scenarios to ensure a better understanding of these global processes.

The topic sparked genuine interest among young participants, who eagerly asked aboutnew education formats,future professions,robots, AI’s role in the economy and trends in industries ranging from healthcare to manufacturing.

“Our study of global trends demonstrates a growing demand for Big Data specialists, software and application developers, data analysts and researchers, experts in autonomous and electric transport, environmental engineers and a number of other professions. At the same time, transversal skills will be no less important than hard skills. Key skills with rising demand will include creative and analytical thinking, emotional intelligence, lifelong learning, curiosity, AI and Big Data literacy, resilience and flexibility,” Dmitry Yaroshevich noted.

The Summer School for Young Analysts is being held in Belarus for the second time. This intensive program helps young participants develop practical skills and shape their professional trajectories through various educational formats. Under this year's themeThe City of the Future, the school's agenda includes group work, expert sessions, workshops, a hackathon and discussions with international specialists. The Development Bank partners with the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research both in its core activities and in hosting the National Competition of Analytical Projects and the Summer School for Young Analysts.
