MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – A comprehensive roadmap for implementing the services and investment agreement will be developed between Belarus and China, the press service of Belarus’ Economy Ministry told BelTA.

On 12 December, Belarus’ Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko held an online working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People’s Republic of China Aleksandr Chervyakov. The key topic of discussion was the entry into force of the services and investment agreement between the governments of Belarus and China signed on 22 August 2024.
“On 1 January 2026, the agreement on trade in services and investment between Belarus and China will enter into force. This is a large-scale integration document that has become a landmark in the development of Belarus-China cooperation,” the deputy minister noted.

The meeting addressed further cooperation on implementing the international treaty, as well as practical steps for using the agreement’s potential. In the short term, a comprehensive roadmap for implementing the agreement is expected to be developed, along with efforts to inform the business community about the guarantees provided under the document.

The agreement establishes a number of principles to create an environment of trust in the markets of Belarus and China, ensure non-discrimination, and increase transparency in trade in services and investment.

In Belarus, the document was ratified by Law No. 54-Z on 6 February 2025.
