Belarus' agricultural export to Russia at $1,075.2m in Q1 2021

MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – In Q1 2021, Belarus exported $1,075.2 million worth of food and agricultural products to Russia, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko said as he met with Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The parties discussed the current agenda of cooperation in agriculture and prospects for advancing the bilateral relations. “Russia is one of Belarus' key partners. In January-March 2021, the trade in food and agricultural products with Russia amounted to $1,429.1 million, up by 1% as against the same period of 2020,” the press service noted.

According to the ministry, Belarus' export of food and agricultural products to Russia came at $1,075.2 million (up by 0.7% year-on-year). Russia's share in Belarus' total export of such goods totaled 73.5%.

“With the current level of output volumes, Belarus was able to boost export of certain products in natural terms, including dairy and meat products, potatoes, flour, and rapeseed oil. In Q1, Belarus shipped these products to 74 out of 85 Russian regions. Top export markets among them were Moscow (accounting for 18.9% of the total export to Russia), Moscow Oblast (33.7%), Saint Petersburg (9.2%), Smolensk Oblast (6.7%), and Kaliningrad Oblast (5.2%),” the Agriculture and Food Ministry noted.
