Yuri Albers confirmed as head coach of Belarus' national biathlon team

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) - Yuri Albers has been confirmed as head coach of the Belarusian national biathlon team, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Biathlon Federation.

Yuri Albers' candidature, offered by the Belarusian Biathlon Federation, was approved by the Sport and Tourism Ministry. The Belarusian specialist replaced Valery Polkhovsky who decided to leave the post in September 2016.

In May 2016 Yuri Albers was appointed as agent responsible for international and domestic competitions.

The 2016-2017 biathlon season will kick off with BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 1 in Oestersund, Sweden on 27 November.
