Volha Mazuronak joins team of Star Ambassadors of 2nd European Games

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Belarusian marathoner Volha Mazuronak has joined the team of the Star Ambassadors of the 2nd European Games 2019, BelTA learned from the press service of the organizing committee of the competitions.

The 2018 European champion received the corresponding certificate from George Katulin, CEO of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC). “I think that many people were impressed by a wonderful sport result and a deed Volha committed during the competitions in Berlin. We are absolutely confident that thanks to her pro-active attitude she will make a good Ambassador of the 2nd European Games and help attract thousands of athletics fans to the competitions,” he said.

Earlier, the status of the Star Ambassador of the 2nd European Games was bestowed upon Alexander Bogdanovich, the 2008 Olympic champion (canoe), a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

The 2019 European Games Organizing Committee has launched the information project Star Ambassadors of the 2nd European Games. The project is designed to develop and promote a positive image of the 2nd European Games in Belarus and abroad, to attract public attention to the games. The Star Ambassador title will be awarded to outstanding sport, art and cultural personalities from Belarus and other countries.

The first Star Ambassador certificate was presented to four-time Olympic champion (biathlon) Darya Domracheva on 24 July.
