MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 108 Victoria Azarenka was forced to retire midway through the second set due to a back injury as she played Danielle Collins of the United States (World No.42) in the San Jose 2018 quarterfinal, BelTA informs.
Victoria Azarenka had won the first set 7-6(4), but was trailing 0-3 in the second set when she retired due to a back problem. On her way to the quarterfinal the Belarusian beat Ukraine's world number 79 Kateryna Bondarenko and Russian world number 101 Anna Blinkova.
