Three medals for Belarus at FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Sofia

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian national team won three medals at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Sofia, Bulgaria, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian team of Ksenia Cheldyshkina, Anna Dudenkova, Maria Kadobina, Maria Kotyak, Valeria Pishchelina and Arina Tsitsilina claimed silver with the Six Clubs and Two Hoops. The Belarusians scored 18,350 points to finish behind Bulgaria (18,550 points). Irina Leparskaya and Tatyana Nenasheva's girls scored 18,150 points to clinch bronze with the Five Ribbons. Bulgaria claimed another gold with the total of 18,550 points. Second was Russia (18,300 points). Belarusians also collected the All-Around bronze with the total of 36,650 points. Russia celebrated the victory in the event (37,100 points). Silver went to Bulgaria (36,800 points).

In the Individual All-Around event Anna Bozhko of Belarus scored 69,400 points to finish ninth. Her teammate Yelena Bolotina was 19th with 66,650 points. Leaders of the Belarusian national team Melitina Staniouta and Yekaterina Galkina did not take part in the competitions. The Individual All-Around gold went to Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia (75,750 points). Second was Ganna Rizatdinova of Ukraine (74,250 points). Son Yeon-jae of Korea was third (74,200 points).

The Belarusian national team will next take part in the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Holon, Israel slated for 17-19 June.
