MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – Aleksandra Sasnovich of Belarus has failed to progress to the second round of the Cincinnati Open, BelTA has learned.
In the opener the Belarusian, ranked 96 in the world, lost 4-6, 2-6 to Russian world number 38 Darya Kasatkina.
Aleksandra Sasnovich reached the main draw after beating Elise Mertens of Belgium (World No.46) 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 and Sofia Kenin of the United States (World No.141) 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
Arina Sobolenko (110) of Belarus defeated British world number 71 Heather Watson 7-6, 6-4 and then lost to Croatia's world number 50 Donna Vekic 6-2, 4-6, 1-6.
