Mirnyi, Oswald reach Houston final

MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Austria's Philipp Oswald advanced to the men's doubles final in Houston, the United States, BelTA has learned.

In the semifinal the Belarusian-Austrian duo ousted one of the world's best tandems, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.

Max Mirnyi and Philipp Oswald will face Andre Begemann of Germany and Croatia's Antonio Sancic for the title.

In Lugano, Belarusian players Aryna Sabalenka and Vera Lapko reached the women's doubles semifinal after seeing off the Australian-Swiss tandem of Monique Adamczak and Xenia Knoll in the quarterfinal.

Both the players have also progressed in the singles. Aryna Sabalenka will take on Camila Giorgi of Italy for a spot in the semifinal, while Vera Lapko will play Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens, who beat Belarus' Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the round of last 16.
