MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – The Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) will hold its meeting at the Headquarters of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus in Minsk on 20 October, BelTA has learned.
The agenda of the session will include the issues related to the development of the Olympic movement in the European countries and the support of the children's and youth sport. The EOC Executive Committee will also summarize the results of the EOC activity in 2016.
Today Minsk will be welcoming delegates from 50 countries for the 45th EOC General Assembly that is due to take place in the Belarusian capital on 21-22 October. Late on 20 October Minsk will play host to the presentation of the new EOC logo, which, according to EOC Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi, will bear the essence of the Olympic movement in Europe.
The 45th EOC General Assembly in Minsk will also feature the EOC Piotr Nurowski Prize for the Best Young European Athlete awards ceremony. There is also a representative of Belarus among the contenders for the award. Minsk was given the right to host the 45th EOC General Assembly in Prague last year, surpassing Yerevan and Malta's Valletta. Partaking in the 45th EOC General Assembly in Minsk will be representatives of all 50 European National Olympic Committees.
