MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) - Minsk Vice Mayor Viktor Laptev and a Chinese delegation headed by Wang Jingying, the director of the Shenyang Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, discussed signing an agreement on cooperation in sport during a meeting in Minsk on 11 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk city administration.
Shenyang is interested in promoting cooperation in such sports as football, ice hockey and gymnastics and in organizing joint competitions in these sports among youth. Belarusian specialists could train young athletes in China and share the experiences in organizing international sports events.
The parties also discussed the prospects for development of cooperation between regions, the Chambers of Commerce of the two cities, and between Shenyang University and Belarusian State University.
Shenyang is one of the largest cities in China, an important industrial, scientific and educational center. The two cities signed a cooperation agreement in June 2016. During the current visit, the Chinese guests will tour around the sports infrastructure facilities of Minsk.
