Ilya Ivashko through to semifinal in Samarkand, Egor Gerasimov out

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Ilya Ivashko of Belarus has reached the semifinal of the tennis tournament in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian, ranked 215th in the world, beat Russia's Teimuraz Gabashvili (World No.149) 6-3, 6-2. Ilya Ivashko will face Spain's world number 176 Adrian Menendez Maceiras in the semifinal.

Egor Gerasimov of Belarus (World No.170) failed to reach the semifinal losing 1-6, 6-7 (6-8) to Aldin Setkic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the men's doubles semifinal the Belarusian-Chilean tandem of Andrei Vasilevsky and Hans Podlipnik Castillo lost to the Indian duet of Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Vishnu Vardhan 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 2-10.

The tournament final in Samarkand is scheduled for 20 May.
