MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – The University of Civil Protection under the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry won the 7th Academic Championship in Fire and Rescue Sports among the European universities, BelTA learned from the university.
The event took place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on 25-26 April. Competing in the championship were 19 university teams from the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Belarus. The Belarusian sportsmen won the overall team title among the men's and women's teams. The championship included a 100m hurdles, a hook-ladder climb, fire relay race and combat deployment.
The Academic Championship in Fire and Rescue Sports among the European universities has been held in the Czech Republic since 2011. The participants come from various countries. Universities of more than 10 countries took part in the competition in different years.
