Belarus, Russia discuss sport development prospects in Union State

MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – The state and prospects of the development of physical education and sports in the Union State were discussed at a meeting of the Union State PA commission on social policy, science, culture and humanitarian affairs in Minsk on 27 November, BelTA has learned.

The MPs were briefed on the progress made in the harmonization of the physical education programs that envisage the introduction of an analogue of the All-Russia Physical Education and Sports Complex Ready for Labor and Defense in Belarus, and also the harmonization of the admission rules to higher and secondary special educational institutions for winners of Belarusian, Russian and international Olympiads.

The participants of the meeting considered the possibility of setting up the Youth Chamber at the Parliamentary Assembly, draft priority directions and overriding tasks for the further development of the Union State in 2018-2022.

The participants of the meeting, including representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, the Education Ministry of Belarus, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus and the Ministry of Sport of Russia also visited the Minsk-Arena where they met with Minsk Vice Mayor Igor Yurkevich. The focus of the talks was on the development of physical education and sports.
