Belarus' Domracheva fourth in Antholz Sprint

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) - Belarusian Darya Domracheva finished fourth in the Sprint at the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 6 in Antholz, Italy, BelTA has learned.

The leader of the Belarusian team had a confident run in the race and had a chance at the podium but made one miss during shooting standing and thus finished fourth, 23 seconds back.

Norway's Tiril Eckhoff claimed gold with a clean-shooting 21:05.3 victory in the Antholz sprint. Germany's Laura Dahlmeier was second (12.0 seconds back) and Veronika Vitkova of Czech Republic finished third, 20.6 seconds back.

Other Belarusian biathletes did not make it to the top 20. Nadezhda Skardino finished in 28th - +1 minute 33.5 seconds (0+1), Nadezhda Pisareva was the 36th - 1 minute 50.2 seconds (0+1). Dinara Alimbekova had no penalties but was slow on the route - +1 minute 56.2 seconds (0+0). Irina Krivko had four misses in the two shooting bouts - + 3 minutes 13.7 seconds (3+1).

Finnish Kaisa Makarainen maintained her lead in the overall World Cup standings with 504 points. Darya Domracheva is 10th (328), Irina Krivko 17th (266), Nadezhda Skardino 18th (263), Nadezhda Pisareva 70th (18), Dinara Alimbekova 72nd (14), Daria Yurkevich 84th (5).
