Belarus beat Romania at U16 Women's Volleyball European Championship

MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – Belarus has claimed another victory at the ongoing U16 Women's Volleyball European Championship in Samokov, Bulgaria, BelTA has learned.

Egor Pimakhin's team fought through Romania 3-2 (11-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 15-8) in the match of the Preliminary Group II fourth leg. Earlier, Belarus bagged victories over Russia (3-2) and Belgium (3-2), and blanked the Czech Republic 3-0. Today Belarus will complete the preliminary round against Turkey.

The Group II overall standings are as follows: Belarus – 9 points, Romania – 9, Russia – 9, Turkey – 7, Belgium – 1, and the Czech Republic – 1.

The standings of the other group based in Sofia are the following: Italy – 12, the Netherlands – 9, Bulgaria – 9, Denmark – 3, Greece – 3, Finland – 0.

Two best teams from each group will advance into the playoff. Semifinals are scheduled for 28 July, with medal games due on 29 July.
