Belarus 13th in women's relay in Ruhpolding

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian team of Nadezhda Skardino, Irina Krivko, Nadezhda Pisareva and Darya Yurkevich finished 13th in the women's 4x6km relay that completed the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 5 in Ruhpolding on 17 January, BelTA informs.

The Belarusian athletes had every chance of getting into the top three. At the second exchange Nadezhda Pisareva went off in the lead, 10 seconds ahead of Ukrainians. However, Nadezhda Pisareva's strength gave out and she even had an intention to withdraw, but coaches persuaded her to continue. As a result Pisareva tagged Darya Yurkevich in the 11th position. Belarus' time on track is 1:18:44.2.

The Ukrainian team won the women's relay, with one penalty and four spare rounds in 1:16:14.2. Germany with two penalties and eleven spares, was 1.2 seconds back. Italy finished third, 43.8 seconds back.
