Azarenka advances to Madrid Open third round

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Belarus number one Victoria Azarenka celebrated her second victory at the ongoing Madrid Open, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian, seeded 5th in the world, needed 83 minutes to beat World No.49 Alize Cornet of France 6-3, 6-2 and progress to the third round of the tournament. In the opener Victoria Azarenka saw off Laura Robson of the UK (World No.426) 6-4, 6-2.

The clay-court tournament in the Spanish capital will be over on 7 May.
