MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka and Aliaksandra Sasnovich have been nominated for the WTA Awards 2018, BelTA learned from the WTA website.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich has a chance to become Most Improved Player of the Year. Apart from the Belarusian, Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands, Julia Goerges of Germany, Daria Kasatkina of Russia, Elise Mertens of Belgium, and Wang Qiang of China have been nominated for the award.
Newcomer of the Year Award features players who made huge breakthroughs in 2018. These are Amanda Anisimova, Danielle Collins, and Sofia Kenin (three – the United States), Mihaela Buzarnescu of Romania, and Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
The voting will be over on 12 October. The winners will be announced at the final tournament in Singapore on 19 October.
